Is it a surprise to anyone that Todd Palin actively discussed political issues with his wife? Political wives have been considered the most powerful source of influence on any leader, and the fact that he is a husband, not a wife, doesn't change the fact that he wants to help his spouse in her role as a public leader.

The East Wing

While the Executive Office of the President is housed in the West Wing, the East Wing has been reserved exclusively for the Office of the First Lady. Officially established in 1978, the OFL brings together the Social Office, the Protocol Office, the first lady's own policy advisors, and her personal staff. Each first lady has the ability to organize her office to her own liking, which has resulted in the staff growing and shrinking with each administration. The range of duties performed by the First Lady also changes with each administration.
